ModernCraft Construction is a Kansas City design‑build studio handling residential remodeling and painting, plus commercial painting for offices, retail, multifamily and light industrial spaces. One contractor, start to finish
Very few projects stay inside a single trade. A bathroom that starts as “new tile” turns up a soft subfloor. A kitchen refresh becomes a lighting plan once the cabinets move. Splitting that across a tile setter, a carpenter and a painter means three schedules, three bids and three people pointing at each other when something does not line up.
We keep remodeling, carpentry, flooring and painting under one roof for exactly that reason. The crew that opens the wall is the crew that closes it, so sequencing is a scheduling question rather than a negotiation, and nobody has to be talked into owning the seam between two trades.
How a project runs
1 · Free estimate
We walk the space, listen to your goals and talk honest budget — no obligation. If the thing you want costs more than you want to spend, that is a better conversation to have standing in the room than three weeks into a build.
2 · Design and quote
A fixed price and a clear scope, plus help choosing every finish and material. Fixed price means the number moves when you change the scope, not when we find something we should have looked for.
3 · Build
On‑time crews who protect your home and leave the site clean every day. Floors get covered, dust gets contained, and the space is put back in usable shape each evening on projects where you are still living there.
4 · Walkthrough
The project is not complete until you give final approval against a comprehensive punch list. We walk it with you, write down everything that is not right, and finish those items before we call it done.

Locally owned and based in the Kansas City metro, working with homeowners within roughly 35 miles of Kansas City on both sides of the state line. Estimates are free and written, and we usually follow up within 48 hours of hearing from you. Bring whatever you have — an inspiration photo, a rough budget, a floor plan, or just a room you are tired of looking at.
